About Me

Dr. Carrie Porter is the owner and sole veterinary practitioner of Veterinary Acupuncture of Atlanta. She received her undergraduate education and veterinary degree from North Carolina State University in Raleigh, North Carolina. Graduating from the College of Veterinary Medicine in the Spring of 2011, Dr. Porter embarked on her veterinary career in central Florida as a Large Animal Veterinarian.
Soon after, an opportunity to practice in the heart of Georgia's horse country opened up and Dr. Porter began working as an Equine Ambulatory Veterinarian in Alpharetta, Georgia thereby fulfilling her childhood dream. In the Spring of 2015, she received her certification in Veterinary Acupuncture at the Chi Institute of Traditional Chinese Medicine in Reddick, Florida and began introducing this wonderful modality to the Atlanta area.
Dr. Carrie Porter's extensive experience obtained during 4 years of equine practice is priceless and truly complements the eastern medical therapies of acupuncture and herbal medicine that she specializes in today.

In her spare time, Dr. Porter enjoys many outdoor activities including riding her horse Junuh, fishing, and participating as a Veterinary Judge at North American Trail Ride Competitions (NATRC). As an animal enthusiast at heart, she also spends "cuddle time" with her two cats, Moses and Jackson, while she is enjoying time at home with her awesome family.
